On August 5th 1962, the world awoke to the news that Marilyn Monroe was dead.
To this day, we ask, was it suicide or murder? The answer we will never know.

It is not my aim to judge or to draw any conclusions.

To me Marilyn was a woman whose life was embroiled in a deep rooted insecurity.  Her only desire was to love and to be loved.

For many years she  suffered from deep depression and towards the end of her life relied heavily on tranquilisers.

Although adored by millions, she lived alone.
Her third marriage (4th if you count Bob Slatzer), had failed after four years and Century Fox had just launched a legal battle suing her for willful violation of contract.  Her personal life represented a political minefield.

To me however it seems that Marilyn only ever existed for other people and that she never really got the chance to discover who she really was.  Somewhere along the lines Norma Jeane ceased to exist, replaced by a celluloid alter ego  What happened to the person behind the Legend?

In her short life she burned bright and although her life was extinguished, her memory lives on
